See the RANT file for motivation behind this pre-processor.

The basic idea is that this is a pre-processor for MagicPoint that
allows you to create reasonable slides in a very straightforward
fashion.

The nuts & bolts of getting going...

First, install these three things:

  FreeType 1.x: http://www.freetype.org/
  TrueType fonts: http://www.mew.org/mgp/
  MagicPoint: http://www.mew.org/mgp/

(in that order).

The idea of mmaker is that you feed it an input file (e.g., foo.mm)
and it spits out a file that is suitable for reading by MagicPoint
(e.g., foo.mgp). Simple.

There is an Example/example.mm file in this tarball that shows you
how to use the features of mmaker. That files demonstrates
everything that mmaker can do. Of course, there is more to
MagicPoint, and for that you should look at the SYNTAX file that
comes with MGP.

Also, if you look at Example/Makefile that will show you how to run
the pre-processor and generate .mgp files for both on-screen viewing
and postscript generation.

You will need to tweak the fonts specified in dump_header() unless
you're using the ttf fonts distributed with (or along side) mgp.
There should, of course, be a better way to choose fonts. It's on
my TODO list...

I hope this little script serves you well and let me know if you add
anything cool or interesting.
